Programs on the History of the Local Native Americans

NEW PROGRAM: L. I. Native American Archaeology Drop Off Box

Since COVID-19 may prevent on site and in school educational programs at some locations, SCAA has developed this new resource for teachers and students.

The box contains a comprehensive PowerPoint on Long Island's Native Indian prehistory, history and archaeology.  Pre-visit materials, artifacts from various periods, hands on activities and challenge sheets are also included to reinforce the information contained within the PowerPoint.

Contact Diane Fish (631-645-2206) or email salmon381@yahoo.com to book this new addition to our programs.

NATIVE LIFE

This program is available in-school and provides a hands-on learning experience for students in preschool through high school. Students will get an hour of interactive activities that were the lifeways of prehistoric Native Americans, as well as experiencing archaeology and museum exploration. A slide show is part of the experience.

The program includes

  • Deerskin Costumes
